Today, February 1, the Moscow City Court again denied Oleg Sokolov's defamation suit against Yevgeny Ponasenkov and thus upheld last year's decision of the Savelovsky District Court. Moreover, the lawsuit between St. Petersburg reenactor Sokolov convicted of murder and Moscow historian and publicist Yevgeny Ponasenkov has been going on for several years.
Sokolov demanded to refute the information that Ponasenkov spread in his videos that he organized beatings of students, insulted and plagiarized. In addition, the dismemberer believes that he killed his graduate student-mistress Anastasia Yeshchenko, since Ponasenkov's "harassment" caused him a "psychotraumatic effect".
Recall that 63-year-old Sokolov on the night of November 8, 2019, in his St. Petersburg apartment, first shot Yeshchenko, and then dismembered her body and threw it into the Moika River, but at the same time he fell into the water. The intervention of a bystander saved his life, but Yeshchenko's body parts were found in his bag.
Sokolov was sentenced to 12.5 years in prison in December 2020. He was also recognized as a plagiarist, since the Savelovsky court proved the fact of the theft of the scientific ideas and texts of Yevgeny Ponasenkov. Experts from the Institute of Russian History of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Institute of the Russian Language of the Russian Academy of Sciences confirmed that Ponasenkov was the first to publish his historical articles. Ponasenkov suggested that Sokolov gave his work to his graduate students so that they could compile from various sources for his scientific articles.
Yevgeny Ponasenkov himself responded in his blog to the decision of the Moscow City Court:
“Of course, you will be surprised, but today I again won the trial against the murderer and dismemberer Sokolov. This is already a tragedy. As you remember, I won both lawsuits - both his lawsuit against me and my lawsuit against him (in my lawsuit I even received a lot of money). (...) That is, back in June, I won the court case, but this hysterical type, instead of repenting to the grave of what he had done, filed another appeal (moreover, in terms of deadlines in recent days, they caught on some “squiggles”) - and Here is my victory again! The Moscow City Court announced the decision: the killer's claim against me was completely repulsed (once again). And this is despite the nightmarish hatred towards me from the regime authorities! Although, it is clear that they will try to take revenge on me on another "front" (but in the end I will turn this into a victory).
Further. I didn’t want to completely annihilate the already imprisoned man, but after such impudence (that he continued to appeal - for the fourth year already!) I, of course, will file for legal costs - and they will describe the apartment of the creature. I will arrange a Museum of envious idiots in it..."
