It is reported by "Kommersant". Thus, the departments want to convince retail chains to achieve a reduction in markups of up to 5% for these categories of goods before July 1, but suppliers fear that this will be done at their expense. The issue was discussed on February 3 at a meeting attended by the head of the Ministry of Agriculture, Dmitry Patrushev, and the deputy head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Viktor Yevtukhov. They want to achieve a reduction in margins for beets, carrots, cabbage, potatoes, onions, drinking milk, cottage cheese, kefir, butter, sugar, non-durable bakery products.
“The Ministry of Agriculture considers it expedient to minimize trade margins for certain categories of products in organized trade down to zero before the start of the new agricultural season - July 1, 2022”, - the source reports.
Thus, the department plans to increase the availability of socially significant products for the population.
In mid-January, it became known that large Russian retail chains supported the FAS initiative to reduce the markup on categories of goods of social importance. Retailers have proposed their own "responsible pricing" mechanisms, stating the possibility of reducing the markup to 10-15%, but this proposal, apparently, did not suit the government.
