Contrary to the reports of Rosstat about the growth of incomes of Russian citizens, they not only do not grow, but are rapidly falling.

The state of real incomes of the Russian population, according to Rosstat, is growing by leaps and bounds: the long-term record in 2021 was broken immediately by 3.1%. However, journalist Vasily Alenin urges not to believe this figure, since the estimate of inflation in it is not correct. If before, before the change in the leadership of Rosstat, the calculations of this department more or less coincided with the data of ROMIR, then since 2020 everything has changed: the discrepancy has almost doubled.

Alenin shows how “Rosstat, having “played” with representative goods in its basket, gives out the inflation rate that the authorities require from it, while ROMIR cannot do this, since it makes its estimates on the analysis of store receipts, that is, on the analysis real purchases made by citizens of the country, and therefore his assessments correspond to reality.

The expert, based on these data, estimates the real incomes of Russians, and they fell in 2020 by 4.5%, and not at all by 2%. And in 2021, they fell by 5.3% at once, and did not grow by the same 3.1%, according to Rosstat. That is, in two pandemic years, they decreased by 9.6%, and did not grow by 1%,
