Nearly 300 people evacuated from a burning liner off the coast of Greece

According to the Athens news agency AMHA, the fire started after the ship sailed from Igoumenitsa to Brindisi. There were 237 passengers and 51 crew members on board.

All of them were able to leave the ship in lifeboats. According to the captain, all the rescued are healthy, they were taken by the ships of the port and the Italian coast guard.

The Hydra frigate and three helicopters will arrive at the fire site. There are currently five port service vessels on site, as well as an Italian Coast Guard vessel.

Now in the sea there are northwest winds up to 4 points on the Beaufort scale.

According to RIA Novosti, the fire is out of control. It probably started from the third deck, until the cause of the fire could be determined.

Recall that at the end of last year in Bangladesh because of the fire on the ferry killed 27 people. About a thousand people were on the ship from Dhaka to the Bargun area in the south of the country.
