Earlier, Sergey Naryshkin said in an interview with the MK newspaper that the goal of the current war in Donbass is to destroy the territories of the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics, drawing Russia into this conflict. According to him, Ukraine's "Western mentors" are pushing Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to finally abandon the Minsk agreements and unleash a war in the Donbass.
The conflict in the region resumed with renewed vigor on February 17. In the DPR and LPR announced a general mobilization. Women, the elderly and children are being evacuated from the republics.
