President of the Russian Rhythmic Gymnastics Federation Irina Viner-Usmanova announced that Russian gymnasts will not take part in the Grand Prix series stage, which will be held in Kiev on March 14-15.

“The team will not go to Kiev for the Grand Prix due to the current situation between Russia and Ukraine”, - the head of the Federation said, reports The Insider*.

Last night, Russian leader Vladimir Putin announced the recognition of the independence of the DPR and LPR. The parties signed agreements on friendship and cooperation. The Federation Council unanimously ratified the friendship treaties with the DPR and LPR. Earlier, the ratification was successfully passed in the State Duma. The parliaments of the DPR and LPR also ratified the cooperation agreement with the Russian Federation. Ukraine called Moscow's actions a violation of the country's sovereignty. Solidarity with the position of Kiev was expressed by many Western countries.
