The cost of gas in Europe has updated another record, approaching the mark of $2,300. This rise in prices is due to cooling in the region, as well as a decrease in energy generation from alternative sources.

Today, March 2, on the reference TTF hub in the Netherlands, April futures traded at €193.95 per 1 MWh, or $2,280.85 per 1,000 cubic meters. m.

At 12:35 Moscow time, prices increased by 43.5%, reaching the level of €174.6 per 1 MWh.

The price of gas in Europe is growing after the sanctions announced by Western countries against Russia. European vaults are now less than 30% full. By the end of February, there was almost a quarter less gas in storage than a year ago.

At the same time, despite the sanctions, Gazprom continues to supply gas to Europe through the territory of Ukraine.
