The Russian embassy demanded an explanation from the US authorities after Senator Lindsey Graham (pictured) spoke about Russian President Vladimir Putin. The senator called on the Russian people to kill their president. The embassy said that such statements are outrageous and unacceptable.

"We demand an official explanation and strong condemnation of the criminal statements of this American", - the embassy said in a Facebook post.

The Russian Ambassador Anatoly Antonov commented on the situation. He said that he was afraid for the fate of this country, which is led by such unprofessional politicians who allow themselves such statements.

"The degree of Russophobia and hatred in the United States towards Russia is off scale. It is impossible to believe that a senator of a country that preaches its moral values as a" guiding star "for all mankind could afford to call for terrorism as a way to achieve Washington's goals in the international arena", - the Russian ambassador said.

It's worth reminding that the day before, Republican Senator Lindsey Graham called for an end to the Russian president. According to him, this is the only way to stop the war in Ukraine. In an interview with Fox News, he said that whoever "takes this guy out" will do his country and the whole world a great service. On his Twitter page, he asked if Russia had its own Brutus or Klaus Stauffenberg, referring to the figures in history who attempted on the lives of Julius Caesar and Adolf Hitler, respectively.

"If you do not want to live in darkness for the rest of your life, be isolated from the rest of the world in extreme poverty and live in darkness, you need to take responsibility", - the senator said.
