The American company Meta, which owns the social networks Facebook and Instagram, said that it was temporarily lifting the ban on publications calling for violence against military personnel of the Russian Armed Forces. The company clarified that this does not apply to reports of prisoners or Russian civilians.

"We have temporarily made allowances for forms of political expression that would normally violate our policies, such as violent speech", - company spokesman Andy Stone told CNN.

He clarified that, for example, the phrase “death to the Russian invaders” is acceptable. He called such appeals "a form of political expression". But if the post contains methods of murder, then it will be blocked, the representative of the company specified. In addition, calls are allowed only in the context of the military special operation in Ukraine, which has been going on since February 24.

According to Reuters, the relevant notices were sent to the moderators of the sites in a number of countries. Among them are Ukraine, Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia, Poland, Hungary, Romania and Slovakia, the countries of the Caucasus, as well as the Russian Federation itself.

At the same time, according to the agency, social networks will allow publishing calls for reprisals against Russian and Belarusian leaders - Vladimir Putin and Alexander Lukashenko.

It's worth reminding that on March 4, Roskomnadzor blocked the Facebook social network throughout the country, since since October 2020, 26 cases of discrimination against Russian media and information resources by the social network have been recorded.
