Russian President Vladimir Putin agreed with the idea of attracting volunteers to conduct a military special operation in Ukraine.

According to RIA Novosti , Putin made a statement about the involvement of volunteers in the special operation at a meeting with permanent members of the Security Council.

“If you see that there are people who want, on a voluntary basis, especially not for money, to come and help people living in the Donbass, well, well, you need to meet their needs and help them move to the scene of fighting”, - RIA Novosti quotes the words of the president.

Earlier it was reported that on February 24, Putin announced the start of a military special operation of the Russian Federation in Ukraine with the aim of "demilitarization” and “denazification” of the country. Western states called it an act of armed aggression and imposed sanctions against the Russian Federation.

Putin, speaking with congratulations by March 8, promised Russian mothers that not a single conscript soldier would be involved in the special operation in Ukraine. However, already on March 9, the RF Ministry of Defense admitted that conscripts had nevertheless been sent to Ukraine. Moreover, some of them have already been captured. The Prosecutor General's Office took up the investigation into the scandal.
