“The situation of uncertainty, in which the majority of Russians now find themselves, contributes to an increase in the level of anxiety and stress. A long stay in this state can adversely affect health: a person under stress gradually loses the ability to critically and objectively perceive information, becomes less efficient”, - says Irina Ivankova, an expert at the NAFI Analytical Center (quoted by Forbes).

According to the results of the study, the majority of Russians experience anxiety in one form or another. At the same time, researchers note the influence of age and other factors on the answers of citizens. Thus, 48% of respondents aged 18 to 24 answered that they do not experience or almost do not experience increased anxiety. Men responded in a similar way - 41%, people with a good income - 43%, respondents without higher education - 33%.

In addition, the researchers asked how the Russians are struggling with an increased level of anxiety. 48% of respondents found ways to deal with stress for themselves. For 12% it is entertainment and hobbies, for 10% it is household chores, for 9% it is work, part-time work and finding additional sources of income, for 6% it is communication with family and loved ones. Walking and playing sports help only 3% of Russians.

The socio-economic situation in the country remains difficult. This is facilitated by Western sanctions, which led to the destabilization of the Russian economy, the collapse of the ruble, rising prices and shortages of products. The government is taking steps to stabilize the situation. Departments and retail chains have repeatedly reported sufficient food supplies, the stable work of domestic producers, but the Russians do not believe in this. This is clearly demonstrated by a brawl in a Moscow store during the delivery of sugar. According to the results of the VTsIOM study , 44% of Russians experience problems with sleep.
