UN Security Council did not adopt Russia's humanitarian resolution

This document did not get the required nine votes for out of 15, writes RIA Novosti.

He expressed his regret that the Security Council did not adopt the resolution. The Permanent Representative of the People's Republic of China Zhang Jun expressed a similar position.

He said the decision was "unfortunate" and said the council had been unable to reach an agreement while the world was waiting for an immediate ceasefire.

Note that the text contains a call not to use civilian infrastructure to host military installations, and also not to install them in densely populated areas.

Earlier, Russia refused to introduce a ceasefire for the duration of the negotiations. The Kremlin explained this by saying that the enemy uses this time to regroup its troops and strike at the positions of the Russian military. On March 18, the head of the Russian delegation, Vladimir Medinsky, said that the Russian Federation and Ukraine have the closest possible positions on its neutral status.
