Another 1,500 pages of UFO-related material, which were studied by the Pentagon, became public. The data was collected during the Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program (AATIP), a secret US Department of Defense program that ran from 2007 to 2012.
Despite the fact that AATIP was not held under the heading "secret", its existence became known to the general public only in 2017, when the former director of the program, Luis Elizondo, resigned from the Pentagon and published a UFO video in the media. Shortly thereafter, the US affiliate of the British tabloid The Sun filed a request for any documents related to the program under the US Freedom of Information Act, allowing all or part of the US government information and documents to be made public. Four years later, on April 5, 2022, the U.S. Department of Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) granted the request, sending 1,574 more pages of material to The Sun.
According to the publication, the report includes data on the biological impact of UFOs on people, research on advanced technologies such as the invisibility cloak, and plans for the colonization of deep space. Some portions of the documents were not provided for confidentiality reasons, according to AATIP.
One of the most curious journalists was a report entitled “Anomalous Acute and Subacute Field Effects on Human and Biological Tissues”, dated March 2010. It describes alleged human injuries sustained while observing advanced aerospace systems, some of which may pose a "threat to U.S. interests." In total, the report describes 42 cases recorded by doctors and 300 not included in official documents, when people were injured as a result of alleged collisions with "anomalous vehicles", that is, UFOs. These meetings ended in burns caused by electromagnetic radiation, as well as damage to the brain and nervous system, hair loss, nosebleeds, heart palpitations and headaches.
Among the documents sent is also a list of alleged consequences of UFO sightings reported between 1873 and 1994. It was compiled by the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON), an organization that studies reports of UFO sightings. Among the effects listed are the experience of telepathy, teleportation, and levitation, as well as paralysis, pregnancy, and abduction.
