“With so many important issues on our agenda, we tend to forget that we are in the midst of the fourth industrial revolution, which is accelerating global change at a much faster pace and in more understandable ways than the previous three revolutions.
I am proud that the Government of Dubai has shown such foresight and established the Fourth Industrial Revolution Center in conjunction with the World Economic Forum.
Thus, it has become possible to find out what the potential of new technologies is, as well as to carry out the necessary ethical and political work around these technologies so that these technologies can be ensured that these technologies are oriented towards the person and society.
The world must now make an effort not only to overcome the damage that Covid-19 has done to our economy and society, but also to confront the consequences of a dangerous clash between major world powers.
History is truly at a turning point.
We cannot yet fully understand what the systemic and structural changes that will take place will be.
However, what we do know is that global energy systems, food systems and supply chains will be deeply affected.
In times of crisis, the role of governments is more important and relevant than ever.
A summit like this is needed to move beyond crisis management and explore constructive ways to build our common future.
The future of each individual is inextricably linked to the future of others, because the serious problems facing humanity, such as climate change, are globally interconnected and require collective responses.
But despite all the challenges we face, we must maintain a high degree of responsibility towards future generations, and this can only be done through cooperation at the national and global levels.”
