Turkey will create an airline to deliver tourists from Russia to its resorts

Thanks to the new structure, Turkey intends to additionally attract about a million tourists from Russia to its territory under Western sanctions.

“It is planned to create a new airline for charter flights to resorts”, - Gazeta.ru notes, citing Sabah data.

Flights of liners of the new airline to Russian cities are planned to be carried out from Antalya. All work will be focused exclusively on clients from the Russian Federation.

Until a new structure is created, the Turkish airline Turkish Airlines intends to reduce the shortage of seats on airliners that has developed after the introduction of Western sanctions against Russia by allocating blocks of seats on its flights to Russian tour operators.

After the start of the military special operation of the Russian Federation on the territory of Ukraine and the rise in prices, the citizens of the Russian Federation sharply, by about 10 times, reduced the number of bookings for tours to the resorts of Turkey and Egypt. In the context of the collapse of the ruble, many citizens switched to austerity, and the entertainment sector, including foreign resort vacations, was among the first to be cut in spending by Russians.

In order to restore passenger traffic from the Russian Federation, on which the Turkish economy is significantly dependent, the country's authorities plan to issue a $300 million loan to tour operators ANEX Tour, Pegas Touristik and Coral Travel this spring.
