The ministry explained that the sanctions were imposed "in order to maintain international peace and security and to contribute to Japan's international efforts to ensure international peace." We are talking about, including, 385 State Duma deputies, as well as Katerina Tikhonova and Maria Vorontsova, whom the Japanese Foreign Ministry called "daughters of the President of the Russian Federation." The statement lists Maria Lavrova and Ekaterina Vinokurova as "the wife and daughter of Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov."
The measures also affected Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Navy Nikolai Evmenov, his Deputy Vice Admiral Vladimir Kasatonov, Commander-in-Chief of the Black Sea Fleet Admiral Igor Osipov, Commanders-in-Chief of the Land Forces Oleg Salyukov, Russian Aerospace Forces Sergey Surovikin, Commander of the Russian Air Force Sergey Dronov.
Under the sanctions was the first castle of the Black Sea Fleet Sergey Pinchuk, the commander of the Southern Military District Aleksey Avdeev, the deputy commander of the Southern Military District Rustam Muradov and the commander of the 8th Guards Combined Arms Army of the Southern Military District Andrey Sychevoi.
Sanctions hit 26 enterprises and two Russian banks - Alfa-Bank and Sberbank, whose assets will be frozen and transactions prohibited from May 12. From the same day, foreign investments in the Russian Federation will be carried out exclusively with special permits.
