US police find five human fetuses at anti-abortion activist's home

She, according to her own statement, blessed and buried another 100.

Five human fetuses have been found at the Washington home of anti-abortion activist Lauren Handy, Business Insider reports. Another 110, this self-proclaimed "Catholic anarchist" managed, by her own admission, "to bless and bury".

Handy represents the Progressive Anti-Abortion Uprising (PUUA) movement. According to representatives of the organization at a press conference, she, along with PUUA founder Terris Bukovinets, obtained human embryos not far from the Washington Surgical Clinic. Handy and Bukovinets protested against abortion there, and on their way out they stumbled upon a Curtis Bay Medical Waste Services car labeled "biohazardous waste." According to Bukovinets, they approached the truck driver, told him that his load was "dead babies" and agreed to take them "in order to bury them properly".

In Handy's apartment, the women examined their prey and found the remains of 110 fetuses removed in the early stages of pregnancy, and five more removed in the later stages. According to the activists, the priest blessed the remains, after which they were buried according to the Catholic rite in an unknown place. At the same press conference, PUUA activists also stated that part of the electricity supplied to Baltimore is obtained by burning the remains of embryos.

Representatives of Curtis Bay Medical Waste Services say they do not dispose of human fetuses, and also that their drivers could not transfer such cargo to activists. The police are investigating how the fruits could have gotten into Handy's apartment.

In the state of Washington, abortions are allowed up to the 23rd week of pregnancy, and for medical reasons, abortions at later dates.
