Defense Ministry: Ammunition detonated on cruiser Moskva

The Russian Defense Ministry said that the crew of the flagship of the Russian Black Sea Fleet, the cruiser Moskva, was evacuated due to the detonation of ammunition on the ship. The ship itself was seriously damaged.
"As a result of a fire, ammunition detonated on the Moskva missile cruiser. The ship was seriously damaged. The crew has been completely evacuated", - the defense ministry said.
The cause of the fire is currently being established.
Recall that the Moskva cruiser was laid down in 1976 (as the Slava missile cruiser), and launched in 1979. The ship is equipped with 16 anti-ship missiles of the P-1000 Vulkan complex (radius of over 700 km). The cruiser is also armed with long-range air defense systems S-300 Fort.
