Continental has temporarily resumed tire production in Kaluga

Tire manufacturer Continental has temporarily resumed production at its plant in Kaluga. The decision was made due to the fear of the company's heads of "criminal consequences" in case of default.

Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung writes about it. The company, which stopped production in Russia on March 8, resumed work last week. The concern explains its decision by "tough criminal legal consequences" that threaten both employees and the management of the Russian division in case of failure to fulfill local orders. We are talking about temporary production "in cases of need". At the same time, the level of production is significantly lower than before the shutdown. The company's statement indicates that the manufacturer does not pursue the goal of making a profit.

Recall that after the suspension of imports and exports to Russia, the company promised to serve the demand "until further notice and existing stocks in place".
