The ash plume spread to the southwest from Karymskaya Sopka. Scientists pointed out that ash precipitation in settlements is not expected - the plume from one will shift to Avacha Bay, from the second - towards Kronotsky Bay.
It's worth reminding that Karymsky is located in the eastern part of the Kamchatka Peninsula, 115 km from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. It is one of the most active volcanoes in the region. Its height reaches almost one and a half thousand meters.
Now the volcano has been assigned a "red" aviation hazard code - international aircraft traffic routes do not pass in this area. Not registered in the area of the volcano and tourist groups.
