Hundreds of volunteers gathered outside the Russian diplomatic mission in Addis-Ababa to fight for Russia

However, according to Reuters, there is no evidence that Russian diplomats sent any of the willing Ethiopians to Russia or Ukraine.

On Thursday, an unnamed Russian diplomat appeared at the gates of the Russian embassy and said in a loud voice that Moscow currently has enough forces to carry out a special operation. He also promised that "volunteers will be contacted when they are needed".

The Russian embassy released a statement saying that Russia "does not recruit militants" and that the Ethiopians who appeared outside the diplomatic mission were well-wishers expressing "solidarity and support for the Russian Federation".

Nevertheless, all these events excited the Ukrainian diplomats, who protested to the local authorities and demanded to disperse the crowd who wanted to "fight for Putin".

As you know, Ethiopia did not vote on the resolution of the UN General Assembly condemning Russia's military special operation in Ukraine. Moreover, many citizens of the country expressed their solidarity with Russia, which has maintained close relations with the countries of the Horn of Africa since Soviet times.
