In two months, the number of requests on sites offering contract service in the armed forces has grown 7 times.

The Reedus agency, citing the SuperJob job search service, reports on the rapidly growing interest of Russian citizens in military service. More recently, sociologists from the Skillbox platform found that 38% of the country's citizens are afraid of losing their jobs under severe Western sanctions and believe that it will be very difficult for them to find a new job, since already about half of Russian companies are either reducing or stopping recruitment by the end of 2022. This is what makes Russians interested in military service. Recruiters claim that compared to February 20, 2022, Russian citizens began to look for vacancies offering contract service in the RF Armed Forces 7 times more often! Moreover, 10% of requests come from women.

“The most popular queries are “contracted serviceman”, “VDV”, “communications engineer”, as well as positions in medical services”, - the agency quotes employees of the job search service.

According to an expert on employment and career development, Harry Muradyan, military service for many Russians “became an unexpected opportunity to solve their financial problems - to close loans, pay off mortgages. Many, realizing the risk, go to the service to free their families from the burden of debt. (…) Prices can reach 400 thousand rubles. For an indebted person with dim career prospects, this is such a wild opportunity.”

However, apart from the armed forces, if there is another employment opportunity that our citizens are increasingly interested in, it is the public sector. Although state employees do not have very high salaries, stability is guaranteed, Harry Muradyan believes: “Money is not always paid a lot - the main part falls on the bonus part. (...) Many are now only on the salary remained. But even so, you can wait out the time.
