Figure of the day: 90% of gadgets in Russia can be disabled from abroad

A frightening prediction was made at the Safe Internet Forum conference by well-known Russian information technology entrepreneur Igor Ashmanov : he stated that 90% of client devices (that is, computers and smartphones) in Russia can easily be disconnected from abroad. The fact is that the so-called “theft mode” exists in the software of all gadgets, be it Android, iOS, macOS or Windows 10. Moreover, upgrading to block gadgets in our country, depriving their owners of the opportunity to unlock, will take a very short time.

One of the conference participants asked a logical question to Ashmanov: why would the West turn off Russian smartphones, thereby depriving itself of 140 million spy devices from which any information can be removed?
