According to RBC, referring to the document, in order to obtain a residence permit, a specialist will need a temporary residence permit. The current law provides for a residence permit for a period of one year, with the exception of former citizens of the USSR, children of Russian citizens, highly qualified specialists and their families, as well as graduates of Russian universities.
The employer will also have the opportunity to attract foreign specialists without a permit or patent. When concluding an employment or civil law contract with an accredited organization, a foreign IT specialist will be able to apply to the Ministry of Internal Affairs for a residence permit in a simplified manner. Moreover, if the employee, having terminated the employment contract, does not get a new job in an accredited organization within 30 days after that, then his residence permit will be canceled.
