Cellular operators have turned to Rospotrebnadzor with a request to amend the sanitary rules and allow the placement of base stations on the territory of schools and kindergartens. The department opposed it, as this could adversely affect the health of children.

"According to the current norms of SanPin, the placement of objects that are not functionally related to educational activities is not allowed on the territory of general educational organizations", - the department told RIA Novosti.

It's worth reminding that the ban on the placement of cell towers on the territory of educational institutions has been in force since 2010. It has been expanded since last year. Now it is impossible to place cell towers on the territory of universities and colleges.

The day before, cellular operators appealed to Rospotrebnadzor and the Ministry of Digital Transformation with a request to lift this restriction, Kommersant writes. Operators assure that the towers are safe for health. This is confirmed by research. However, now under the new legislation, operators will have to dismantle the previously installed towers. Dismantling will cost more than two billion rubles. The lack of towers will affect the quality of communication in these places.
