He announced the development of a new calculation scheme on April 11 during a conversation with Reuters. Then the head of the Hungarian Foreign Ministry said that his country would pay the bill in euros, which Gazprombank would convert into rubles and transfer to the Russian company Gazprom Export.
“As for payment in rubles, we have a solution that does not violate any sanctions, but at the same time ensures the gas supply to Hungary”, - Szijjarto said.
According to the minister, the next gas payment for Hungary is scheduled for May 22, as Kommersant reports. The head of the Hungarian Foreign Ministry noted that the transit of gas through the territory of Bulgaria is carried out in a regular mode.
“I want to assure everyone that the cessation of gas supplies to Bulgaria does not mean that transit through it will also stop”, - he added.
Earlier today it became known that Gazprom suspended gas supplies to Poland and Bulgaria due to the refusal to switch to a new payment scheme, which implies payment for Russian gas in rubles.
