From May 15, vaccination against covid will stop in Denmark, according to NewScientist. The government made this decision as the number of cases and hospitalizations is declining and immunization rates are high. In Denmark of 5.8 million, 82% of the population, i.e. four out of five people, have received two vaccinations and are considered fully vaccinated.
Shortly before this, Denmark became the first EU country to lift all covid-related restrictions: on February 1, the local government announced that the SARS-CoV-2 virus was no longer a critical threat.
The Danish authorities intend to resume the vaccination campaign in the fall.
