On May 4, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia put on the wanted list the journalist Alexander Nevzorov, who was recognized by the Ministry of Justice as a foreign agent, and against whom a criminal case was opened in Russia for “fake news” regarding the activities of the Russian army on the territory of Ukraine.

According to Kommersant, the card of the journalist, former State Duma deputy Nevzorov has been added to the official database of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

“Nevzorov Alexander Glebovich, born on August 3, 1958, is wanted under the article of the Criminal Code”, - the message says.

At the same time, the number of the criminal article is not officially indicated.

Earlier it was reported that in March of this year, Nevzorov was suspected of spreading fakes about the Russian army after he posted a publication “about the deliberate shelling of a maternity hospital in the city of Mariupol by the RF Armed Forces”. The Investigative Committee decided that the material was provided with “inaccurate photographs of the victims”, which were taken from Ukrainian media reports.

Meanwhile, after the start of the military special operation of the Russian Federation in Ukraine, the Russian media were ordered not to use the Ukrainian media as a source of information. Roskomnadzor demanded that, when publishing about events in Ukraine, journalists rely only on data from state-owned Russian media and official reports from the Russian Defense Ministry.

After the publication about the maternity hospital in Mariupol, a criminal case was initiated against Nevzorov. The UK announced this on March 22. And exactly a month later, on April 22, the Ministry of Justice included Alexander Nevzorov in the register of foreign agents.

It is known that in March of this year, Nevzorov left the territory of the Russian Federation.
