Stanislav Shushkevich was the chairman of the Supreme Council of Belarus from 1991 to 1994. He was also one of the authors of the Belovezhskaya Accords. For a long time he headed the Belarusian Social Democratic Hramada, and since 2018 he has been its honorary chairman. The politician was not afraid to criticize the activities of the current president of the republic, Alexander Lukashenko.
“In April of this year, Shushkevich’s health deteriorated after suffering a coronavirus infection, for some time he was in intensive care”, - Euroradio reports.
After that, he improved and was discharged from the hospital.
