No paper, no corks, no wire: sparkling wines also suffered from sanctions

Sanctions
Domestic producers of sparkling wines complain about the shortage of the most necessary accessories, without which it is impossible to sell them.

Anti-Russian sanctions have also created unexpected problems. Producers of sparkling wines complain that there is no self-adhesive paper for labels in our country, journalist Aleksey Pivovarov reports on his channel. In addition, this business is threatened by a shortage of cork, which is produced exclusively from the bark of the cork oak, which grows only in Portugal and Spain.

The third problem is the funniest, it is akin to the “nail problem” that Matviyenko complained about not so long ago. It turns out that special wire holders for corks, the so-called "museles" in Russia, are also a huge rarity: those that are produced do not stand up to scrutiny, they simply break when twisted, and importing high-quality ones is now impossible due to sanctions. That is, the problem rests not on the wines themselves, which at the very least still turn out, but on a banal wire!

It is possible, therefore, that champagne for the upcoming New Year, 2023, already needs to be stocked up today. And preferably imported, from what else you can buy in stores, because it is unlikely that you will be able to open the domestic one...
