China's Hottest Grandpa Wang Deshun: "You Can Change Your Life As Many Times As You Wish To"

Wang was born on January 5, 1936 in Shenyang, Liaoning Province. The family lived in poverty, the boy had to secretly collect coal dust on trains every day, so that later it could be exchanged for rice. He worked everywhere he could. He was a bus conductor, a cook, a laborer at a military factory.

But in his heart, according to Wang, he always dreamed of becoming an actor. And he succeeded: at the age of 24 he began working in the theater. At 44, he learned English. At the age of 49, he created his own pantomime troupe, but then decided to go to Beijing, where he started everything from scratch. At first, Wang was homeless, barely making ends meet, until everything finally worked out.

At 50, he first signed up for a gym and started working on his body.

At the age of 57, Wang returned to the stage and created a unique art form called "living sculpture" (see photo).

At 65, Wang learned to ride.

At the age of 67, he began acting in films and gained popularity thanks to his role in the action movie The Forbidden Kingdom. To date, he has almost 30 films to his credit.

At 78, he learned to ride a motorcycle. And finally, at the age of 79, he became a model and made his first runway appearance at China Fashion Week.

The most surprising thing is that the fashion show that led to Wang's modeling triumph was due to chance.

The fact is that Wang's daughter works as a DJ. She was putting together a music program for an upcoming show when her phone rang during the discussion. A photograph of her father flashed on the screen, and the designer who was preparing the fashion show became very interested in the handsome elderly man. As a result, Wang took part in the event.

As soon as the Fashion Week video hit the internet, it went viral. In Chinese search engines, then the query immediately appeared in the first place: "China's hottest grandfather." In just a couple of days, Wang became a real Internet sensation.

Now he continues his modeling career and leads social networks, where he already has more than 200 thousand subscribers.

Wang Deshun is sure that old age should not be an excuse for anything, including for one's own inaction.

He is now 86 and still has dreams to pursue.

“One way to check if you are old or not is to ask yourself if you can try something new, something that you have never done before. No one is able to keep you from success, except yourself. People can change their lives as many times as they want, the important thing is to just have a goal”, - says Wang.
