Lukashenko: Belarusians are not aggressors, but they will support Russia!

The West will not be able to disunite the union of Russia and Belarus. President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko stated this on May 9 at a wreath-laying ceremony at the Victory Monument in Minsk.

The BelTA agency reports from the scene: Lukashenko said that the Western media are setting their audience on Russia and Belarus, trying to create a false image of the aggressor.

"Isn't it time to hear each other and stop? After all, none of you want a war, but the European capitals have done everything to make it happen. Now it's no secret to anyone that the entire Western world is fighting against Russia in Ukraine. And we are accused of that we support Russia. Think again! Belarusians have neither legal nor moral right not to support Russia. We have always been together, we have always been united," Lukashenka said.

The President also stressed: "I want everyone in the West to hear me again: Belarusians are not aggressors. But, remaining an ally and strategic partner of fraternal Russia, we will support it in every possible way."

It is impossible not to notice the ambiguity and extreme degree of failure of the voiced thesis about the aggressor. The simplest primary analysis shows that Lukashenka considers Russia to be the aggressor country - and is trying to rhetorically distance himself from it, moreover, against the background of constant assurances of a fraternal alliance and unbreakable friendship. The Minsk diplomatic "multi-vector approach" manifested itself again and again.
