The Lancet: by the end of the XXI century, the population of Russia will decrease by one and a half times

A curious forecast by scientists from the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME) is published by the leading medical publication The Lancet. After studying a huge amount of data regarding the health of the population of various countries of the world, the state of the healthcare system, economic trends and other indicators, scientists came to the conclusion that India, Nigeria and China will become the most populated countries in the world in 2100. But Russia from the current 9th place (146 million people) will immediately fall to 19th (106 million). Moreover, in terms of GDP, our country will occupy a modest 14th place after Turkey, Indonesia and Brazil. Considering that, for example, our country occupies one of the leading positions in terms of mortality from AIDS, there is nothing strange in this forecast.
