Newly appointed Governor of Tomsk Vladimir Mazur (pictured) addressed the deputies of Tomsk. In his speech, the excited head of the region (acting) twice called the Tomsk region Tyumen (VIDEO). Prior to that, Mazur worked in the Tyumen region, where he served as vice-governor of the region and mayor of Tobolsk.

The Tyumen land is the land of strong-willed Siberians, very sincere, very decent, talented and hardworking people”, - said Mazur during his speech.

Russian President Vladimir Putin appointed Vladimir Mazur Acting Governor of the Tomsk Region on May 10.

Mazur is a native of the Tomsk region. He graduated from Tomsk State University with a degree in jurisprudence, worked at local enterprises, and since 2004 was appointed deputy mayor of Tomsk. In 2011, he was appointed Deputy Governor of the Tyumen Region for investment policy, ecology and subsoil use. In 2012, he became mayor of Tobolsk and was re-elected for a new term, but later resigned. In 2019, Mazur moved to the Kaluga Region, where he was appointed Deputy Governor, and the next year, First Deputy Governor. From June 2020, he worked as Deputy Head of the Office of the President of the Russian Federation for Domestic Policy.
