Research has begun on a vaccine against COVID-19 based on virus-like particles, developed by specialists from the Gamaleya Research Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology, said Alexander Gintsburg, director of the center. Several volunteers received the drug, they have not observed adverse reactions to the vaccine.

"There were no absolutely negative reactions to the introduction of the vaccine. Based on this, we can say that everything is fine", - RIA Novosti quotes the words of Gintsburg.

Earlier, the Russian Ministry of Health gave permission to the center to conduct clinical trials of a vaccine containing virus-like particles.

According to Gintsburg, there are difficulties in recruiting volunteers who test negative for antibodies to the coronavirus. Screening against over a hundred applicants, but only those who lack antibodies are vaccinated.

The new vaccine involves two injections with an interval of three weeks. The components of this drug, unlike Sputnik V, are the same.

Note that earlier the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation warned that in June this year there is a possibility of an outbreak of coronavirus infection in the country due to the weakening of herd immunity.

Rospotrebnadzor believes that the end of the pandemic in Russia is still far away.
