The deputies of the Legislative Assembly of the Primorsky Territory, Leonid Vasyukevich and Gennady Shulga, were expelled from the Communist Party of the Russian Federation in the regional parliament after they called for an end to Russia's special operation in Ukraine.

Both parliamentarians are not members of the party, they were part of the faction, Anatoly Dolgachev, the first secretary of the Primorsky Territory Committee, specified to Kommersant.

According to Vostok Media, on May 26, 2022, at a scheduled meeting of the regional parliament, Vasyukevich addressed Russian President Vladimir Putin, calling for an end to the special operation and the withdrawal of Russian troops from the territory of this country. The Speaker of the Legislative Assembly Alexander Rolyk asked Vasyukevich not to violate the rules, but here Shulga also supported Vasyukevich's position.

Earlier, Vostok Media reported that during a “straight line” with the inhabitants of the region, Governor Oleg Kozhemyako called the deputies from the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, who staged a demarche during his report to the Legislative Assembly, “bastards and henchmen of Bandera”.
