At a meeting on June 7, State Duma deputies adopted the final version of a bill on free travel for children aged five to seven years in suburban electric trains.

Prior to the adoption of the document, children of this age were required to pay for train tickets. When buying travel documents, they were given a discount of 50% to 75%, Kommersant notes.

According to the initiators of the innovation, the appeals of public organizations became the reason for the adoption of the bill.

After consultations with the Ministry of Transport and Russian Railways, the government supported the idea of introducing a 100% benefit for children from 5 to 7 years old on suburban electric trains.

The State Duma believes that the introduction of a new benefit will support families with children.

Earlier it was reported that in addition to children, the authorities decided to support pensioners.

So, at the end of May, it became known that 76.5 thousand residents of the Moscow Region of retirement age over 70 years old will be able to count on compensation for major repairs as an additional measure of support from the state.

The benefit implies a 50% compensation for the payment of the overhaul fee. At the same time, after reaching the age of 80, citizens are entitled to compensation in the amount of 100%.

From April 2022, overhaul benefits are accrued automatically. Beneficiaries receive an application to the personal account of the State Services portal, where they only have to check the correctness of the filled in data and give their consent - now applicants do not have to prepare documents to confirm their right to compensation.
