Aeroflot to order 300 aircraft from UAC

The Russian air carrier Aeroflot intends to order from the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC, part of the state corporation Rostec) 300 aircraft - Superjet 100, MS-21 and Tu-214.

Vedomosti writes about this, citing sources familiar with the airline's plans.

The parties are going to conclude the agreement at the SPIEF, which will be held from 15 to 18 June. Most of the order will be for new generation liners (SSJ100 and MS-21), and a smaller part for Tu-214.

At the beginning of last month, the head of Rostec, Sergey Chemezov, announced plans to produce over 110 aircraft of the MS-21, Tu-214 and Il-114 types by 2025 and about 500 such aircraft by 2030. Currently, work is underway to find new mechanisms that allow airlines to operate foreign-made aircraft.

In April, it was reported that anti-Russian sanctions jeopardize the repair of Superjet 100 engines. Airlines operating domestic Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircraft were faced with the inability to repair and maintain the technical suitability of Russian-French SaM146 engines.

To date, carriers have about 150 Superjet aircraft at their disposal, 11 Russian companies fly on them: Rossiya, Aeroflot, Azimuth, Gazprom Avia, IrAero, Red Wings, Severstal, Yakutia , "Yamal", a special flight squad "Russia" (transportation of high-ranking officials of the Russian Federation) and the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
