Figure of the day: Russian repatriates send over $3.5 billion to Israel

The amount that the Israeli economy will receive thanks to Russian immigrants will be 1% of the country's GDP.

Israeli journalist Sophie Shulman publishes extremely curious data about who actually became the beneficiary of the military conflict between Russia and Ukraine. According to this information, since the beginning of the special operation in Ukraine, new wave of repatriates from Russia have transferred more than one billion shekels (about $300 million) to accounts in Israeli banks. In addition to this billion, another one is in the process of transaction, and another ten billion shekels are in the queue for transfer (about $ 3 billion). This is not only about the personal fortunes of the repatriates, but also about the transfer to Israel of their working businesses, investment funds, and so on, the channel “On duty in Israel” reports.

This money makes up almost 1% of Israel's GDP, and therefore (as well as the influx of human capital from Russia) will further accelerate the economic growth of this country. For example, last year Israel's GDP grew by 8.1%.
