Experts predict that every seventh owner of super-wealth will leave the country.

London-based firm Henley & Partners, which helps super-rich people acquire citizenship, has published its new report on the emigration of millionaires, reports The Guardian. It shows that more than 15,000 millionaires will leave Russia in 2022. This is about every seventh (15%) Russian millionaire.

“Russia is bleeding millionaires”, - says Andrew Amoils, head of research at New World Wealth, who compiled the data for the new report. – Over the past decade, more and more wealthy people have left Russia every year. This can be taken as a warning signal about the problems the country is facing. Historically, the collapse of the country is preceded by an acceleration in the emigration of rich people who leave first, because they have the means to do so.

The new report also suggests that Ukraine will be the biggest loser among millionaires, with 2,800, or 42%, of millionaires forecast to leave the country by the end of the year.

Whereas previously the super-rich preferred the US and the UK as their country of emigration, this year these countries are likely to overtake the United Arab Emirates, where the largest number of millionaires will move – 4,000. About 3,500 may move to Australia, 2,800 to Singapore, and Israel – 2500. Malta, Mauritius and Monaco with their simplified naturalization process and tax incentives will become other popular countries with the super-rich.

Now there are just over 15 million dollar millionaires in the world.
