Telegram launched a paid subscription

The number of active users of the platform has already exceeded 700 million people, this year the messenger entered the top five most downloaded applications in the world. Telegram reminded that they never placed paid ads for their apps.

The developers said that the updated version added "all those resource-intensive features that users asked for." Free access to Telegram - "the most functional messenger on the planet" - will be preserved.

So, now the paid Telegram will allow upload files up to 4 GB, download files without speed limits, send unique stickers and reactions, recognize voice messages, specify an extended description in the profile, hide ads in channels, automatically archive all new dialogs, set a video avatar.

On the territory of Russia, a paid subscription will be valid only for iOS and will cost 449 rubles per month. It will not be possible to issue it through the Play Store, since Google has disabled payment for subscriptions in Russia.

Recall that the creator of Telegram, Pavel Durov, announced on June 10 that a paid subscription will be presented by the end of this month, which will provide an opportunity to access additional platform functions. He emphasized that all the features that exist today will remain free. Moreover, their list will expand in the near future. Also, users who remain with a free subscription will have access to some Telegram Premium features, such as viewing heavy documents, media files and stickers sent to people with a subscription.
