The fire on the shelled tower of "Chernomorneftegaz" approached the well

It is reported by Kommersant with reference to the data of the senator from the Crimea Olga Kovitidi. Rescue operations are currently underway in the impact area. But the fire has yet to be put out.

“The fire on the tower does not subside, they tried to approach it on the ship, it was not possible. The fire has spread to the well, attempts to extinguish it continue”, - RIA Novosti quoted Senator Kovitidi as saying.

On the eve it became known that on the morning of June 20, the Armed Forces of Ukraine fired at the drilling platforms of Chornomorneftegaz belonging to the Russian Federation in the Black Sea. As a result of the shelling, a fire started. 94 people were evacuated from the platforms. A total of 109 people were on drilling platforms in the affected area. It is known that as a result of the incident, three were injured, and seven people were missing, their search continues.

Due to shelling and fire, oil production in the Black Sea has been suspended. As State Duma deputy Mikhail Sheremet said, despite the state of emergency, Russia "will not leave these fields". Experts will assess the damage, after which the burnt towers will be restored. Additional security measures will be taken to protect the deposits.

The holding "Chernomorneftegaz" includes the Glebovskoye gas condensate storage facility, about 1.2 thousand km of main pipelines, about four dozen gas distribution stations, several offshore drilling rigs and transport vessels. The annual production of gas by Black Sea producers is about 1 billion cubic meters.
