Kommersant: retailers began to import electronics through parallel import

“The company has expanded its product range by more than 100 commodity items due to tablets, laptops, smart watches, game consoles and other goods imported through parallel import channels. We are talking about the supply of a number of Samsung smartphones, the latest generation iPhone, as well as PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo game consoles. A significant part of the devices will be 10-20% more expensive than analogues imported before the outbreak of hostilities in Ukraine”, - said a representative of the Svyaznoy network in an interview with Kommersant.

Svyaznoy President Alexei Vukolov noted that pre-crisis stocks of electronics on the market would be enough for another 2-3 months. Other retailers still prefer not to talk openly about parallel imports. Thus, M.Video-Eldorado considers “available opportunities within the framework of the law”, MTS emphasized that “the sales system complies with Russian legislation”, and MegaFon spoke about sufficient reserves to meet demand.

According to the publication, Svyaznoy promised to give customers an official guarantee for equipment. No problems are expected with the activation of devices - the goods are intended for the EAEU market. Warranty service will be carried out by the service center. “But before the costs were incurred by the manufacturer, and now the distributor pays”, - the company said.
