Members of the Ukrainian special forces from the Shaman battalion spoke about the goals set for them by the command.

Ukraine for the first time admitted that it was conducting operations on Russian territory, according to the British edition of The Times, which publishes an interview with two Ukrainian special forces soldiers from the Shaman battalion who participated in these raids. Probably, the result of their attacks were explosions at Russian oil depots in the regions bordering Ukraine.

According to the Shaman officers, the mission of their battalion was to destroy the infrastructure critical for the conduct of hostilities in Russia. The fighters were dropped into the Russian rear by helicopter. The exact goals of the detachment are classified, but The Times suggests that the group's attacks on Russian territory may be associated with attacks on Russian oil refineries and ammunition depots.

“The most interesting missions are behind enemy lines: laying explosives behind the front line, abroad”, - said one of the interlocutors of the publication with the call sign “Twenty-two”. He also detailed the plan, which was intended to sow confusion and dissension on the home front, but asked The Times not to reveal details.

“The Russians don’t understand what happened and often can’t believe that we were there”, - added a second commando with the call sign Krasavchik.

Since the beginning of hostilities in Ukraine, explosions and fires have been occurring on infrastructure in cities close to the border. In April, after an explosion, the Transneft-Druzhba oil depot in Bryansk caught fire, as well as a tank with diesel fuel on Snezhetsky Val. In the same month, a fire broke out at an oil depot in Belgorod, owned by Rosneft. The Russian Ministry of Defense blamed Ukraine for the incident, but the Ukrainian side did not confirm or deny the involvement of its special services.

Battalion "Shaman" participated in all major battles near Kyiv, including at the Gostomel airport. The officers also admitted that during the battles for the Donbass, Russia inflicted serious damage on the Ukrainian army.

On our own behalf, we add that the Russian special services and representatives of the authorities did not publicly recognize the actions of any sabotage groups of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the territory of the Russian Federation. It is possible that the facts presented in the interview are fiction for the sake of self-promotion of "shamans".
