The refusal of Rospotrebnadzor to initiate the lifting of the ban on public actions in St. Petersburg was announced by the deputy of the city legislature Boris Vishnevsky .
“Starting from the end of March, the incidence has fallen fivefold, but Rospotrebnadzor stands unshakably like a rock, not allowing rallies and pickets,” the deputy said, “we wrote to Governor Alexander Beglov three times, he redirected us to the RPN: they say, he can lift the ban on public shares only upon presentation of RPN. But the department refused, citing a great epidemic danger. At the same time, for some reason, it was possible to hold, for example, mass rallies and concerts in Yubileiny on March 18, the day of the “annexation of Crimea,” but even single pickets cannot be held.”
The deputy notes that the federal Rospotrebnadzor has already lifted all “covid” restrictions, in St. Petersburg, almost all measures introduced by the city government have been canceled. But rallies and pickets remain banned.
“Neither pro-government rallies, nor concerts, nor sports competitions, nor Scarlet Sails - nothing is dangerous for the health of citizens,” says Boris Vishnevsky, “only rallies and pickets initiated by citizens, including single pickets, are dangerous, this is where the virus magically gains strength” .
