After the eruption of the Karymsky volcano in the Kamchatka Territory, an ash cloud rose to a height of 12 meters above sea level. The ash plume extended to the southwest for 73 km.

Now the cloud has reached Cape Lopatka in the extreme south of Kamchatka. On its way there are settlements of the Elizovsky district. The Ministry of Emergency Situations warned residents of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Vilyuchinsk, Yelizovsky and Ust-Bolsheretsky districts about the ash fall.

Sergey Senyukov, head of the laboratory of the Kamchatka branch of the Geophysical Service of the Russian Academy of Sciences, told Kommersant that the eruption began at 22:45 local time (7:45 Moscow time).

The height of the volcano is 1468 meters above sea level. Karymsky is located 115 km from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. It is called one of the most active Kamchatka volcanoes.

In April of this year, we recall, Karymsky twice threw ashes to a height of 10 thousand meters. The volcano was assigned a "red" aviation hazard code - international aircraft traffic routes do not pass in this area.
