Manturov stated this, speaking to the deputies of the State Duma.
“We managed to contain the first blows [of sanctions] and neutralize the negative consequences. More than 700 enterprises have received preferential loans for a turnover of one trillion rubles, reverse engineering projects are being launched, - said Manturov, - in the trade sector, they were able to satisfy the hype of consumer goods and pharmacies, while avoiding the use of non-market mechanisms that we prepared just in case . The measures introduced made it possible to keep the industry from a deep drawdown. Processing completed 5 months up 2 percent. But this is due to the inertia of the industries and the stock of materials. We expect changes in indicators associated with a drop in exports to the West. This will lead to a drop in indicators in metallurgy, the chemical complex and the timber industry. Even with growth in the defense sector, production could fall by about 6% this year”.
As Novye Izvestia previously reported, today, on July 15, the State Duma approved the candidacy of Denis Manturov for the post of Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation. He will combine this post with the post of Minister of Industry and Trade.
