According to the governor of Kamchatka Vladimir Solodov, the helicopter was operated by a private company, the group of tourists was not registered.
"Yesterday, low cloud cover and unfavorable weather for flights were observed in the area of the helicopter crash site. The competent authorities are conducting an investigation and will establish the reasons for the departure and the circumstances of the crash of a private helicopter", - Solodov specified.
Earlier it became known that there were three people on board the aircraft, and the world champion in biathlon among juniors Igor Malinovsky was at the helm.
The Investigative Committee opened a criminal case after the loss of the helicopter.
