In an interview with RIA Novosti and RT, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov (pictured) noted that the geographic objectives of the military special operation have changed and gone beyond the borders of the DPR and LPR.

The head of the Russian Foreign Ministry did not rule out that geographic tasks would move even further if the West continues to supply long-range weapons to Kiev.

“The President said very clearly, as you quoted him – denazification, demilitarization in the sense that there are no threats to our security, military threats from the territory of Ukraine, this task remains”, - Lavrov commented (quoted by RIA Novosti).

The minister recalled that the situation at the talks in Istanbul at the end of March was very different from the current one.

“Now the geography is different. This is far from being only the DPR and LPR, it is also the Kherson region, the Zaporozhye region and a number of other territories, and this process continues, and continues consistently and persistently”, - the Russian Foreign Minister noted.

According to him, the West has succeeded in realizing its plans, so it seeks to aggravate the situation by supplying Ukraine with long-range weapons, including HIMARS. The head of Russian diplomacy noted that further deliveries would lead to the fact that the geographical objectives of the special operation would be pushed even further.

“Because we cannot allow the part of Ukraine that Zelensky will control or whoever replaces him to have weapons that will pose a direct threat to our territory and the territory of those republics that have declared their independence, those who want their future decide for yourself”, - he said.
