Rostelecom faces a fine for data leakage of Smart Home users

As Vedomosti writes, referring to representatives of the RKN, the protocol has been submitted to the court. The company does not comment on the information.

It is known that the maximum liability for a single violation under part 1 of Article 13.11 of the Code of Administrative Offenses is a fine of 100 thousand rubles, for a repeated violation - up to 300 thousand rubles.

It's worth reminding that the check was related to the publication on the network of internal documents of Rostelecom, which contained about 110 thousand lines with personal data, and then information about the clients of the Smart Home service got into the public domain - about 713 thousand lines, in which Full name, email addresses, phone numbers, password and IP addresses. Both incidents drew the attention of the telegram channel "Information Leaks".

Rostelecom assured journalists that the leaked files did not contain passwords for personal accounts, as well as any other information that would help gain access to user data.
